Napier - famously - is a great place to grow up. But we want to do more for our young people and ensure their formative years are fun, nurturing and fascinating.
Napier city offers a range of activities and opportunities for young people. Napier City Council encourages youth development in several ways including providing recreational facilities, leadership development, programmes, events and activities.
Developed over several years, the new Napier Youth Strategy was formally adopted in December 2018. It prioritises six objectives which build on the Youth Services Plan 2012 and have been further shaped by the Napier Youth Council.
Young people are thriving in all aspects of their lives, are well supported and know how to get help.
Young people have opportunities to participate and achieve their goals.
Young people are engaged in education and every young person has options for learning.
Young people are ready to work, know what they want to do and how to get there.
Young people know how to get involved in their community.
Young people have access to a range of activities and are able to have loads of fun.
