  • The southern end of Marine Parade past the children's play ground (free parking).

It is recommended that drivers carefully plan any passenger drops and bus parking requirements as it may take some time to effectively park and transit from a bus.

Operating since 2018, Council has installed secured cages for e-bike storage.Bike Storgage 2

With programmes such as iWay, there are growing numbers of people who choose to cycle to work.  With this in mind, it’s important for Council to provide suitable secure parking facilities.  There are six bike cages designated for e-bikes in the CBD – two at Dickens Street East Carpark, two at Dickens Street West Carpark and two in the walkway next to Nfinite Gym.  Each cage has instructions on how to use them, all you need is your own padlock or chain.

There is no cost for the use of these.

If you think your vehicle may have been stolen:

  1. Contact the NZ Police on 105, or use 105.police.govt.nz, or 0800 105 105
  2. Contact your car insurance company

Council has no legal right or authority to deal with or remove vehicles from any Private Property or private carparks e.g. Supermarkets.

The responsibility is on the Property Owner.

Often vehicle owners can sell their unwanted vehicles to scrap metal merchants.
