Less Waste Incentive

We want to encourage less waste going to landfill. So if your household produces less waste, we are offering a fortnightly service that can save you money on next year’s rates bill.

How the fortnightly collection works

Put your wheelie bin out every second week, and we will verify your eligibility based on the frequency of empties. If it's 26 weeks or less for the year (or equivalent to), then a remission will be applied to your next year’s rates bill. Please note that the discount will be applied to your rates bill for the following financial year (1 July 2023 - 30 June 2024).

We suggest using our fortnightly calendar to remember which weeks to present your bin at the kerb.

What you need to know

  • This incentive only applies to residential collection zones.
  • You are only required to sign up once. If you do not receive a confirmation email from us, please contact our Customer Services Team.
  • If we notice your bin is being collected weekly, we will remove you from the less waste incentive.
  • You must be the property owner to sign up for this incentive. If you are a tenant and would like to join the fortnightly service, please contact your landlord to sign up on your behalf.

Less Waste Incentive Application Form

Please complete the form below to join the Less Waste Incentive. Applications for each new ratable year close in April and you will receive your remission for the new ratable year starting 1 July. We will start monitoring your bin collection once we receive your application and may check lift history to confirm eligibility.
