Generally the property file will contain information on:
- Building and Resource consents
- A drain plan
- Hazardous information, if identified, and applicable to that property
We are currently working on a project called 'Project Papercut' to digitise 29,000 paper property files. During this process, many of the physical files will not be available to view at our Council reception as they will be offsite in Wellington being scanned. A list of properties for which the physical files are no longer available for viewing at Council are shown in this list offsite files.
Requests to view any property file (whether here at Council or away being scanned) can be made using the form below.
Request a property file - update as at December 2017
Unfortunately we’ve had a few technical issues and we are experiencing delays with ‘Project Papercut’ to digitise 29,000 paper property files. This means your file may either be at Napier City Council, or else in Wellington (either already scanned or waiting for scanning).
Once we receive your request, we will email you to confirm where the property file resides and how you can view it:
a) If onsite at council, you will be able to visit us at Council and view it within 24 hours. We will be in contact with a specific time for viewing.
b) If offsite in Wellington the files will be available to view within five working days and we will let you know how you can view the file.
We apologise for any inconvenience these delays may cause you.
