GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is a database of maps and geographical analyses. The system combines layers of information about a location for a better understanding of that location. GIS can solve a range of real-world problems as outlined below.
We’ve updated the Napier Maps tool to make it more user-friendly and easier to navigate.
You’ll now enjoy a modern interface with dynamic maps, giving you easy access to council geographic info. You can view, query, and report on council spatial data with improved tools for drawing, measuring, and checking elevation. You can also export and share your area of interest with the Select, Share and Print widgets.
*Depending on your screen’s resolution, some widgets can also be found under the More widget.
For more helpful information on how to use the maps and the widgets, please view the helpful user guide here.
Enjoy exploring the new features!
