Health and safety is very important to us at NCC. Depending on the work you're doing for us, we may ask you to go through a pre-qualification process. It's pretty standard - but it's also important.
We all need to keep safe at work and we take this responsibility seriously. To help us meet our obligations under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 we use a pre-qualification process called SiteWise. This system helps us meet our responsibilities to ensure that contractors, working for or on Council assets and/or supplying services, have effective health and safety management systems to prevent harm to people and the environment or damage to property.
The type of suppliers and contractors that need to be registered with SiteWise include (but are not limited to) those who will be attending, monitoring or working on construction projects, or involved in providing security and cleaning services. For more information about the types of work that will require Sitewise prequalification, please read our Health and Safety Pre-qualification – Guide (available in the 'Related Documents' tab at the top of this page).
Suppliers must have, or be working towards their SiteWise green accreditation for projects and tenders that will include these types of work.
Go on-line to SiteWise and register. You will need to complete a questionnaire on your health and safety plans. The process assesses your practices, awards a grade and suggests possible improvements.
All five of the Hawke’s Bay Councils use the Sitewise pre-qualification scheme, suppliers that pre-qualify for one council, will be able to work for any of the councils listed below:
