The Redclyffe Transfer Station is now open for general waste, green waste and recycling.

Cyclone Gabrielle update to services

Redclyffe Transfer Station is now open for general waste, green waste and recycling services. 

  • Upon entering the transfer station there will be two queues, one for recycling only (right hand side) and one for recycling and general waste (left hand side).
  • There is only one operational weighbridge at the moment so please be patient and expect queues.
  • Flood-damaged waste will now need to be weighed but remains free of charge.
  • General waste and green waste will be charged as per normal rates.
  • Recycling can be dropped off for free.
  • We are unable to accept cash at this time. Please pay by EFTPOS, Credit Card or with a pre-existing account.

Redclyffe Transfer Station Standard business hours: Monday to Saturday 7.30am-4.45pm, Sunday 9am-4.45pm with all customers to be off-site by 5pm every day.

Flexi bag service for residents with flood-damaged waste

We are using an additional service to manage flood-damaged waste removal for Napier residents. This is a service specifically for smaller quantities of flood-damaged waste. You can register for a delivery of one or two flexi bags to your residential propertyComplete a registration form online or call our Customer Service Centre on 06 835 7579. 

Refuse Transfer Station

Refuse Transfer Station Fees and Charges approved for 1 July 2022 to 30 June 2023.

All fees and charges are inclusive of GST (except as noted *).

Note: Tonnages are obtained via calibrated weighbridge, minus the weight of the vehicle, in 20kg increments.
Note: No fixed charge for individual rubbish bags
Note: Government waste levy and ETS (Emissions Trading Scheme) charges are incorporated in the rate for general refuse.
Note: Fridges, freezers and batteries will only be accepted after paying general waste charges. This is because of high costs to de-gas these appliances and high cost of recycling batteries.
Note: Discount for bulk waste account holders dumping a tonnage in excess of 500 tonnes per annum is disestablished.
