Our city relies heavily on a number of community organisations, many voluntary, that care for Napier community, especially our more vulnerable citizens. Each year we provide operational funding to these groups so they can continue their good work.
The Community Services grant supports community and voluntary not for profit organisations, with legal status, so they can meet current and future community needs, innovate and/or continue to provide social services that benefit the Napier community. Grants typically range from $500-$2000. Please see the guidelines (under Related Documents) for more information.
Rates subsidies are also available to not for profit organisations that provide a social service. The properties must be rated as commercial, owned by the organisation and used to provide community services. The organisation must be the official ratepayer as recognised by Napier City Council. Organisations that already receive a discount on their rates are not eligible for this rates subsidy.
