The former Taradale Dog Park was removed in July 2021 to make room for an expansion of the Pettigrew Green Arena complex. Planning for a new renewed facility is underway with the dog park and associated facilities within Riverside Park – approximately 150 metres from the former site. It is envisaged that the new facilities will be opened in early November 2022.
The new fully fenced dog park will provide a perfect place for dog owners to allow their dogs to run free and socialise with others without having to worry about them running away.
The dog park will feature a dog agility track, wheel-chair accessible and dog-friendly drinking fountain, dog poo-bag bin, and an outdoor seating area.
Usage of the dog park can be varied, from dogs that need to be socialised, require training or have limited recall. It is particularly suited to owners who have limited mobility to take their dogs for long walks, or for young dogs who are still a little unpredictable off lead.
The new dog park will additionally benefit from the shade of established trees with a choice of carparks nearby.
