Dog owners and their canine buddies will love the purpose-built Park Island Dog Agility Track. It’s located on Clyde Jeffery Drive close to the Prebensen Drive end of Park Island's sports parks in Napier. Just past the hockey fields, the agility track is on your right.
Dog owners and their canine companions will enjoy the purpose-built Dog Agility Track located off Clyde Jeffery Drive close to the Prebensen Drive end of Park Island.
The track features a selection of obstacles including hurdles, bollards, ramps and even a grooming table, all constructed from recycled plastics. It is particularly suited to dogs that are well socialised, need stimulation and have good recall off lead. There is a permanent water station at dog height, a dispenser bag pole nearby to clean up after any dog mishaps and a seating area for onlookers.
The track can be enjoyed by a wide range of users – from local residents to organised groups and professional trainers.
Inspiration for the agility track stemmed from the Napier City Council Animal Control Team who wanted to provide dog owners with a place where they could spend time exercising and training their dogs.
