King George HallTe hōro o King George

Designed by Art Deco architect, Louis Hay, the King George Hall has capacity for 200 seated / 130 dining. Popular for 21sts, weddings and family reunions, theatre productions and craft fairs are also held there. It has a stage, piano, two dressing rooms, kitchen and supper room.

The unique venue has two areas for hire - the main hall and the supper room/kitchen.

The main hall has a maximum capacity of 180 people, while for dining it comfortably seats up to 120-130 people. It has become a popular place to hold weddings and reunions, etc. The hall is generally available for any kind of party within reason as well as theatre productions and craft fairs/expos. A special licence must be obtained to have alcohol on the premises, whether for sale, supply or consumption.

The hall consists of modern toilet facilities, wheelchair access, a stage, piano, two dressing rooms with toilets, under stage storage for tables and chairs, a supper room and kitchen.

Equipment Available

The kitchen has two stoves, microwave, fridge freezer, commercial dishwasher, hot water zip, washing facilities and under bench hot water. There is crockery and cutlery for 60 place settings. There are no cooking utensils.
