With most good things comes a cost. Fees and levies depend on the type of building, the cost of the work, and the level of detail provided. Most consenting charges are payable through Napier City Council as outlined in the table below.

A deposit is not required when a building consent is lodged.
An invoice is generated and sent to you for payment when the building consent has been approved after processing. The invoice will include all fees, levies and estimated inspections. When payment has been received the building consent is granted and issued.
Fees for building services can be paid in person at our customer service centre, or online through internet banking, debit cards or credit cards. You’ll need your invoice number and debtor number (building consent number) as shown on your invoice. Go to https://www.napier.govt.nz/pay-it and select the invoices tab.
