Anzac Day road closures

Anzac Day 2024 road closures

There are several Anzac Day services taking place in Napier on Friday 25 April, 2025. This means we will be closing several roads for short periods of time. 

Napier Dawn Service - 5am to 7am 

  • Marine Pde from Browning St to Vautier St
  • Tennyson St from Marine Pde to Herschell St
  • Marine Pde Parking Precinct from Albion Lane to Marine Pde Parking will still be available within the Marine Pde Parking Precinct – access from Vautier St roundabout.

Veterans will form up along the Marine Pde from 5.40am and walk to the Soundshell where a dedication ceremony will take place.

Napier Civic Service - 10:30am to 12.30pm 

  • Marine Parade between Coote Road and Browning Street only

Taradale Civic Service - 8.30am to 11am 

  • Gloucester St from Meeanee Rd to Elbourne St
  • Avondale Rd from Upham Cres to Gloucester St
  • Neeve Rd from Avondale Rd to Totara St
  • Lee Rd from Meeanee Rd to Gloucester St (Gloucester St shop side only)

In addition, there will be a short service at Lone Pine Cemetery on Puketapu Rd at 6am – 6.30am. There is no road closure, but drivers will be requested to be courteous while driving past the Cemetery area during this time.

Additional information:

  • Detours will be in place for all three services.
  • A short service will also be held at Lone Pine Cemetery on Puketapu Road between 6:00am and 6:30am. No road closures here, but Stop/Go signage will be in place and drivers are asked to show courtesy when passing the area.
  • No on-street parking will be available within any closed road areas.
  • Unauthorised vehicles will be towed at the owner's risk and expense.
