Temporary road closures in place for Iron Māori event

A series of road closures will be in place from Thursday 2 November to Saturday 4 November due to the Iron Māori event.

Closure of car parks

From 5am, Thursday 2 November to 9pm, Saturday 4 November, Perfume Point Access Road and Hot Chick car parks will be closed and accessible to event and volunteer staff.

Event-day road closures

On Saturday 4 November, the following roads will be closed from 3am to 1pm.

  • Hardinge Road both lanes between Bridge Street and Stafford Street.
  • Hardinge Road East bound lane only between Stafford Street and Breakwater Road/State Highway 50.
  • Macaulay Street, Raglan Street, and Ahuriri Lane left turn only.
  • Marine Parade South bound from Browning Street to Ellison Street/State Highway 51 closed.
  • Marine Parade & Tennyson Street to Herschell Street.
  • Marine Parade & Vautier Street, Edwards Street, Sale Street, Warren Street and Ellison Street (left turn Only into Marine Parade).
  • Awatoto Road to State Highway 51 Closed, Hastings De tour in place.
  • Waitangi Road/State Highway 51 is an entry only from State Highway 51.

Additional information:

  • Access to the Freedom Camping and Pump Track will be from the south and vehicles will be able to turn right when free.
  • Speed restrictions and traffic controls will be in place at the Waitangi and Ngaruroro Bridges.

 

Event-day Car Parking

  • All roadside car parks starting from the Hawke’s Bay Sports Fishing Club along Nelson QuaytoBridge Street side will be closed from 3:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This does not include Hawke’s Bay Sports Fishing Club car park.
  • Hardinge Road from 3:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
