Later this year the Napier City Council will call for formal submissions to help it develop its strategy for the city’s public pools, rivers and beaches for the next 30 years.Napier Ahuriri Beach Scene

But right now the Council would like to know what you think about its draft Napier Aquatics Strategy. View and have your say online at the Aquatics Strategy Talk to Us webpage, or by filling in a freepost Talk To Us postcard, which will be available from various venues throughout the city.

The strategy has five underlying goals, to:

  1. Inspire people to be safe in the water, engage in regular physical activity and be part of a strong, connected community
  2. Maximise opportunities for the Napier community to participate in aquatic recreation and sport
  3. Ensure the current and future aquatic network (including natural environments) is safe for aquatic activities
  4. Ensure aquatic facilities and services are financially sustainable
  5. Partner with others if it means better delivery of aquatic initiatives and use of aquatic facilities
