Napier’s favourite New Year’s Eve event at the iconic Soundshell is back for another year, providing all the goods for people young and old to farewell 2023 and welcome the New Year with a bang.

From 7pm, live music, food trucks and two impressive fireworks displays will set the scene for a lively evening on the picturesque Marine Parade.

Napier City Council Event Manager, Kevin Murphy, says Napier’s New Year’s Eve event is a real crowd pleaser with locals and visitors alike, and he’s thrilled to be delivering an impressive line-up of quality entertainment.

“We hope this event will be a positive way to see out a challenging year for the people of Napier and Hawke’s Bay.”

Headlining the event this year is The Relatives, a contemporary and energetic band from Wellington.

Event organiser, Beth Elstone of Littlestone says the band’s song selection, musicianship and showmanship make them the perfect entertainment choice.

“The Relatives play a diverse range of sing-along hits from The Rolling Stones, The Weeknd, Taylor Swift, Mumford and Sons, The Killers, Bruno Mars, Journey, and many more spanning many generations,” Beth says.

“Three quarters of the band originally hail from Napier, and still have strong connections to Hawkes Bay, so we’re looking forward to hosting them in their hometown.”

Supporting The Relatives are Scarlett Eden, Riqi Harawira, Sneeky providing energetic, funky DJ sets, Jackson Plumpton and Rezpect Dance Crew.
