Bore to be switched on as part of dirty water investigation

One of the bores usually used as a back-up for Napier’s drinking water network supply in warmer months is going to be switched on temporarily from next Monday (7 September).

The C1 bore is being switched on to trial if it is contributing to the dirty water affecting the city’s water supply.

Normally the C1 and A1 bores provide extra supply for the summer months.

“We want to do an isolated trial of C1 – separately from A1 – to see what its effect is on the Napier water supply. This is all part of us understanding our water network better and trialling new things to see what improvements can be made,” says Cath Bayly, Manager Asset Strategy, Napier City Council.

We need our residents to tell us if this has an effect on their water for two weeks from Monday 7 September.  Either call the Customer Service Centre on (06) 835 7579 or report it via www.napier.govt.nz
