7 August 2018 to 6 August 2019 - Craven Terrace
We're limiting access to Craven Terrace to prevent further subsidence. There'll be a number of temporary measures put in place including: (1) Craven Terrace - from Colenso Avenue to Tennyson Street - will have the speed limit reduced from 50km/h to 30km/h. (2) The road will only be open to downhill traffic over these dates. (3) No uphill traffic will be allowed in the area apart from access for residents from 1-15 Craven Terrace.

There's a new stormwater and sewer main being installed along Main Street. A section of the road - from Burke Street to Corunna Bay - will be closed off from Monday 30 July until Sunday 16 September. Residential access will be available to Main Street via Spencer Road.

Temporary Speed Limit Change - Puketitiri Road There's a temporary one-year speed limit change from 100km/h to 80km/h on Puketitiri Road. Not the whole road - the strip from 50m north-west of Church Road the (roundabout) to 150m west of Poraiti Road. This change goes into effect from midnight on Sunday 11 March. The rationale for the reduced speed? Road works, new road layout changes and increased logging traffic.

Napier takes precautionary approach to positive water test
Napier City Council has this afternoon chlorinated the water in one of its reservoirs after routine testing returned a positive test for e-coli. The reservoir is the Enfield Rd reservoir and it services much of Napier including Taradale and Bay View during peak season. All other reservoirs tested on the same day returned clear results.
