Water leak detection project underway

Water Leak Detection Project ADR Photo

As part of our commitment to our water conservation strategy, this three-year project is to help us better understand the condition of the city’s underground drinking water network, decide what else may be required to improve this asset, and find and fix any previously unknown leaks as the project progresses.

Contractor ADR will be using listening devices in contact with valves, tobies, hydrants and so on to detect the leaks from above ground.

The focus over the next 12 months will be on Napier Hill, and the area from Westshore to Bay View.

This is the first in a series of future projects to reduce wastage and the risk of contamination.
