Parks & Public Spaces

In keeping with Government guidelines, the following changes will apply to Napier’s public spaces:

  • Parks & sportsgrounds will remain open for passive recreation.
  • Dolbel, Sugar Loaf & a section of Maggie’s Way is closed. 
  • Playgrounds will close this includes school playgrounds and water features will be turned off.
  • Non-essential carparks will be locked; this includes cemeteries, walking access will still be available.
  • Public toilets will be closed.
  • Self-contained campsites will remain open at this stage, freedom camping or non-self-contained camping will close.
  • Drinking fountains and electric BBQs will be turned off.

Over the next four weeks we urge you to stay at home. Outside of your home, keep a 2 metre distance from people at all times and do not congregate. The parks will be monitored and reviewed, if social distancing rules are not followed the parks may close.
