De chlorination Station July 2019 1

The dechlorinated water station closed 3 pm Wednesday 25 March. The decision to close the facility was not made lightly and has been made in line with Government guidelines to stop the spread of COVID- 19.

The reasons for closing:

  • inability to keep the stainless steel surface virus-free between users
  • risk of transmission associated with the above and potential for people to stand in close proximity to each other
  • the risk to Council and contracting staff undertaking routine or increased servicing requirements
  • most importantly, the health and safety of the Napier community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
