The Hawke's Bay Summer Cycling Carnival, including the 2019 Vantage Elite & U23 National Road Cycling Championships, takes place in early January and requires a number of partial and temporary road closures. Specifically: 

Friday 4 January
Vantage Elite & U23 Road National Championships - BDO Time Trials
6am-3pm
⚫Church Road, Taradale (between Balmoral Street and Montpelier Drive)
⚫Tironui Drive, Taradale (in the vicinity of Church Road)

Saturday 5 January & Sunday 6 January
Vantage Elite & U23 Road National Championships - Women’s and Men’s
9am-3pm
⚫ Battery Road from Bull Street to Seapoint Road
⚫ Battery Road from SH50 Hyderabad Road to Lever Street
⚫ Milton Road from Milton Terrace to Battery Road
⚫ Burlington Road no entry from Milton Road to Napier Terrace
⚫ Spencer Road no entry from Napier Terrace to Simla Terrace
⚫ Shakespeare Road from Battery Road to Hastings Street
⚫ Browning Street from Hastings Street to Marine Parade
⚫ Napier Terrace from Burlington Road to Spencer Road
⚫ Carlyle Street from Thackeray Street to Chaucer Road South
⚫ Hastings Street from Browning Street to Tennyson Street
⚫ Tennyson Street from Hastings Street to Herschell Street

6am-6pm
⚫ Marine Parade from Tennyson Street to Coote Road

One-way closures –  9am-3pm
⚫ Cathedral Lane/Browning Street from Tennyson Street to Hastings Street (from Tennyson Street end)
⚫ Tennyson Street between Herschell Street and Marine Parade 

Friday 11 January 2019 – Black Barn Vineyards Criterium
3.30pm-11pm
⚫ Marine Parade between Browning Street and Vautier Street
⚫ Tennyson Street between Herschell Street and Marine Parade
⚫ Vautier Street from Hastings Street to Marine Parade – towards seafront only.

Residents and retailers will be given access, though there may be delays from time to time.
