We’re currently seeking feedback on amendments we’ve made to the Gambling Venue Policy.
In accordance with the Gambling Act 2003 and Racing Act 2003 we must review the Policy every three years.
Council believes the current Policy strikes an appropriate balance between permitting responsible gambling and minimising harm to the community. As a result, we are suggesting the Policy remains the same in regards to the number of machines and venues allowed in Napier, a maximum of 20 venues, 320 machines and 2 TAB venues. However, Council have proposed the following amendments to the policy:
Before making any final decisions on this policy, we’d like your input. Submissions may be lodged between 8 April and 19 May 2017. Below is supporting documentation for the Gambling Venues Policy review.
