Resource Consent for a Multi-Use Sports Facility in Taradale

Napier City Council has received the the following resource consent

In accordance with the Resource Management Act 1991:

Legal Description:  Lot 2 DP 27677, Section 1 SO 425470, Part Lot 1 DP 6891 and Section 2 SO 10954
Resource Consent Reference:     RM170014
Proposal:         

  • Establish and operate a 7,500m2 (approximately) multi-use sports facility (MUSF) on land situated at 470 Gloucester Street;
  • Construct a two-storey link/foyer connection to the existing Pettigrew Green Arena (PGA) at 480 Gloucester Street;
  • Internal reconfiguration of the existing PGA in order to incorporate the link and to provide an additional first floor meeting facility
  • Variation to Resource Consent conditions applying to the existing PGA

The proposal requires Resource Consent approval as a Discretionary Activity for the following infringements of the Operative Napier City District Plan:

  • Non-residential activities within the Main Residential zone
  • Building exceeding the Main Residential 8-metre maximum height limit
  • Building exceeding 3m/45-degree height recession plane
  • Activity with vehicle access onto an Arterial road
  • Landscaped area of the site less than 30%
  • Non-compliance with Main Residential zone noise controls
  • Buildings exceeding the 500m2 maximum floor space control within the Reserve zone
  • Total signage exceeding District Plan thresholds

Written submissions on this application may be made by any person and must be lodged with the Team Leader Resource Consents, Napier City Council, Private Bag 6010, Napier 4142 no later than 5pm, Wednesday 22 March 2017.
