Napier i-SITE hosts day dedicated to locals

Locals will have the chance to be tourists in their own city next month.Napier i SITE Locals Day at the Soundshell in 2015.

After two hugely successful years, the Napier i-SITE is gearing up for its third i-SPY Fun Challenge on Sunday 5 June.

Open to people of all ages, the i-SPY Fun Challenge takes teams on a journey through Napier’s inner city and along Marine Parade following intriguing and fun-filled clues. Teams who successfully complete the challenge within the two-hour time limit go into the draw to win loads of prizes, the main prize being a family Napier experience worth more than $2500.

Napier i-SITE Manager, Jane Libby says this year they have changed things up a little after getting great feedback from participants last year.

"Teams can now choose between two challenges," Jane explains.

"The Up & Down challenge, as the name suggests, includes some steps and hill work. This is more suitable for fitter families and may get you puffing a bit.  The other is the Town & Around, which follows a flat route and is suitable for small children and people of all fitness levels."

The fun begins at 11am. Prizegiving will be held at the Soundshell at 1.30pm.

“This day is all about the locals,” Jane says.

“If people don’t want to take part in the challenge we would still love to see them at the i-SITE. We’ll have spot prizes, quizzes, face painting and loads of fun things to do for the whole family – including half price entry to Par2 MiniGolf.”

Jane adds past years’ participants have really got into the spirit of the challenge with their team names and costumes.

“We are encouraging this again this year by offering prizes for imaginative team names and dress-ups.”

Registration for the i-SPY Fun Challenge is free but there is a voluntary $5 donation per team with all proceeds going to the SPCA. Registrations are open now for teams of two to four members – numbers are limited so get in quick.

You can register at www.napiernz.com, via the Napier i-SITE Facebook page, or any time at the Napier i-SITE, Marine Parade, Napier.
