It is with much sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear beloved kuia Nanny Mei Irihapeti Whaitiri (née) Robin.

Hikohiko te uira!
Papā te whaititiri!
I kanapu ki te rangi!
Ki runga ake o Kahurānaki e!
Kua hinga nei tō tātou kuia mōrehu a Nanny Mei Irihapeti Whaitiri (née) Robin.

It is with much sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear beloved kuia Nanny Mei Irihapeti Whaitiri (née) Robin.
Mei Whaitiri passed away in November 2024. As a school girl, Mei was the model for our much-loved Pania of the Reef statue on Marine Parade. Mei was a respected and admired member of our community and will be sorely missed.

Kia tau ngā tini manaakitanga ki tō whānau e noho pani nei.
E te rauōtītapu, ka noho pūmau koe
ki te tihi o whakaaro.

May your bereaved family be covered in abundant love and blessings. Oh, most revered and esteemed one, you will never be forgotten.
