We’re busy in planning mode in response to the Government’s Local Water Done Well legislation. At the moment, we’re looking at how we can deliver water services to our community, either on our own, or jointly with our neighbouring councils.
There are lots of things to consider, chief among those being what is a water delivery model that’s financially sustainable, safe and effective?
We must deliver a Water Service Delivery Plan to the Government by September 2025. Regardless of whether it is a plan just for Napier, or a joint one with other Hawke’s Bay councils, we will consult with the community before any decisions are made.
