We have three remedial works projects on the go in and around the Clyde Road area on Mataruahou/Napier Hill. It might mean some disruption to residents as our contractors are working.
Clyde Road retaining wall
We’re installing a new retaining wall to fix bank erosion. Works began on 22 July and are expected to finish up by 14 October.
Clyde Road lookout
We have recently identified some potential structural issues with the Clyde Road lookout. As a safety precaution, we have closed the platform and a section of the path underneath it until these investigations are completed, and a repair solution is designed and installed.
Onslow-Brewster steps
Repairs to the Onslow-Brewster steps have been challenging. Access for construction equipment large enough to do the work is difficult and alternative access options would mean additional costs. A decision on next steps will be made at a Council meeting in September.
We apologise for any inconvenience as works on these projects are carried out.
