Temporary road closures from Saturday 31 December to Sunday 1 Janurary due to Napier New Years Eve Celebration

NYE 2022 23 Road Closures

4:30pm, Saturday 31 December to 1am, Sunday 1 January.

There are a series of temporary road closures in place from Saturday 31 December to Sunday 1 Janurary due to Napier New Years Eve Celebrations.

  • There will be a full closure of Marine Parade from Vautier Street to Browning Street
  • There will be a full closure of Marine Parade Parking Precinct from Albion Street to Marine Parade
  • There will be no access to Albion Street from Hastings Street
  • There will be a full closure of Tennyson Street from Hastings Street to Marine Parade
  • There will be a full closure of Emerson Street from Hastings Street to Herschell Street
  • There will be a full closure of Herschell Street from Browning Street to Emerson Street
  • Access will be available to the car park on Marine Parade on the seaward side from the Vautier Street roundabout. 
  • Local detours will be in place. 

There will be a temporary detour in place on the Marine Parade Foreshore Reserve Pathway/Hawke’s Bay Trails from Saturday, 31 December 2022 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. between Browning Street and Tennyson Street. This will remain down on the beach level pathway and send cyclists/pedestrians onto the grass off the pathway.

After 3:00 p.m. there will be a temporary detour in place on the Marine Parade Foreshore Reserve Pathway/Hawke’s Bay Trails from 42 Marine Parade (Ocean Spa) to just past the Soundshell. This will send cyclists/pedestrians on to the shoulder/parking lane from 42 Marine Parade to the Soundshell and direct cyclists/pedestrians back to the pathway behind the i-Site.

The Marine Parade Foreshore Reserve Pathway/Hawke’s Bay Trails will be fully open on Sunday, 1 January 2023 by 10:00 a.m.
