Temporary road closures are in place from 1 - 4 December, due to the IronMᾱori TOA event.

Thursday 1 December to Sunday 4 December

The following temporary road closures are in place from 1 - 4 December, due to the IronMᾱori TOA event:

12pm, Thursday 1 December to 5am, Sunday 4 December

  • Perfume Point Access Road will be closed to all traffic.

12pm, Thursday 1 December to 12pm, Sunday 4 December

  • Hot Chick Car Parks will be closed to all traffic.

12am-7pm, Saturday 3 December 

  • There is a full road closure of Marine Parade from Tennyson Street to Warren Street. The Marine Parade Parking Precinct (north lane) will be able to be accessed from Vautier Street and exit at Albion Street to allow vehicles from the parking precinct to exit these areas.

3am-7pm, Saturday 3 December

  • One way lane closures seaward side only of Hardinge Road from Bridge Street to Breakwater Road/SH50 and Marine Parade from Browning Street to Ellison Street/SH51, including the Warren Street roundabout.
  • Access to the Freedom Camping and Pump Track will be from the south and vehicles will be able to turn right when free.
  • Full road closure of SH51 from Ellison Street to Waitangi Road.  This is a new initiative we have adopted this year to provide a safer cycle route along the highway. Traffic will be detoured along Waitangi Road and Te Awa Avenue. There will also be speed restrictions and traffic controls in place at the Waitangi and Ngaruroro Bridges.

3am-6pm, Saturday 3 December - Carparks

  • Perfume Point Access Road entranceway to Hot Chick car parks on the seaward side of Nelson Quay will be closed.
  • Hardinge Road will be closed.

12pm, Wednesday 30 November to 12:30pm Sunday 4 December

  • The Soundshell and the Lower Lawn will be utilised for the IronMᾱori TOA including the finish line and prizegiving.
  • Vehicles parked within the closed sections may be towed at owner’s risk and expense.
  • Please note all road timings are approximate, dependent on the race event timings.
  • Local detours will be available.
  • Full access will be available for residents of the closed roads as well as pedestrians and cyclists.
  • Extensive traffic management will be in place to make sure that the events run smoothly and safely.
  • Parking along sections of several roads will be prohibited to allow cyclists space to negotiate the corners. 
  • Marshals will be on duty to direct motorists to take the appropriate detours.
