With the nation now at Alert Level 1, it’s back to business as usual for NCC’s facilities.
Napier Aquatic Centre fully reopens on Tuesday 9th June. All changing rooms and showers will be available, with no limit to the number of people in the complex or pools. The children’s pool and slides will also be open. The spa pools remain closed due to retiling work, but will be open again shortly. The Aquatic Centre’s full Aqua Fitness programme begins on Monday 15th June. The Swim School is working towards starting more classes in the next few days.
Napier and Taradale Library are operating normal opening hours, seven days a week. All reserves are ready to be collected and three month lending dates will continue to apply to all items, including bestsellers and DVDs. Library programmes will begin again very soon and will be announced on the Library’s Facebook page.
Various shows and events are already confirming performance dates. These will be listed on the theatre’s website and Facebook page. The ticketing office is open for purchases and refunds.
Shark feeding in the main oceanarium recommences for visitors to enjoy every day at 2pm as well as their interactive displays. Bookings are now open for the Aquarium’s popular Little Penguin Encounters. Bookings are essential through the National Aquarium website. A half price Friends of Aquarium Membership offer is still running until the end of June. These can be purchased online or when visiting.
All galleries are now open with free entry for all. MTG Hawke’s Bay is offering a 10% discount in its shop for anyone who mentions ‘Hawke’s Baycation’. A new exhibition is open celebrating te reo Māori alphabet with animals from the museum’s collection.
The team at Napier Conferences & Events at the War Memorial Centre are receiving bookings. New floor plans and new menus are now available.
The Faraday Centre will re-open on Monday 22 June for the whole family to enjoy. Opening hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, 9am to 3pm.
Open for normal operating hours, 9am to 5pm, seven days. Locals can use the i-SITE as a travel agent to book New Zealand accommodation and all forms of travel in New Zealand except flights, with no booking fee.
Open 9:30am to 4pm, seven days.
Usual opening hours – 3pm to 8pm weekdays and 10am to 8pm weekends.
The limits on the number of customers in Council’s Customer Service Centre no longer applies. From Wednesday 10th June, opening hours will be 8am to 5pm.
Bookings are no longer needed for this service.
