The Air New Zealand Hawke's Bay Marathon takes place between 6.00am and midday on Saturday 18 May 2019. For the safety of the runners, there are a number of road closures around the city (pursuant to the Tenth Schedule of the Local Government Act 1974, Section 342). These  roads at these times.

6:00am – 11:00am
West Quay and Customs Quay, from Lever Street to Bridge Street.

8:00am – 9:00am
Bridge Street, from SH50 north to Hardinge Road.
Nelson Quay – full length.
Hardinge Road – full length.

8:00am – 9:15am
Stop/Go will be in place on Breakwater Road at the two Napier Port entrances.

8:00am – 10:00am
Marine Parade, from Browning Street to Ellison Street (seaward lane only – southbound side of the road).
Stop/Go will be in place on Marine Parade at Ellison Street.

8:30am – 10:30am
Te Awa Avenue between Ellison Street and Kenny Road.

8:30am – 10:30am
Eriksen Road, between Waimakariri Drive and Awatoto Road.
Stop/Go will be in place at Kenny Road.

8:30am – 11:00am
Awatoto Road, between Eriksen Road and Brookfields Road / Meeanee Road intersection.

8:30am – 12:00pm
Brookfields Road, between Meeanee Road / Awatoto Road and the corner of Sandy Road, Hales Road and Brookfields Road.

9:00am – 12:00pm
Sandy Road, Hales Road and Brookfields Road including the Brookfields Bridge (seaside lane only).
Stop/Go will be in place.

Please note all road timings are approximate, dependent on how fast everyone is running.

Local detours will be available.
