Hawke's Bay Rugby Union's Park Island development ready to go

Published: 31 October 2018

The foundational work for the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union's new Park Island building will start on Monday 5 November.

Park Island Redevelopment

Following the recent plan change in the Park Island Master Plan, the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union intend to start work on their new building in February 2019. NCC recently removed some trees on the corner of Orotu Drive and Westminster Avenue to allow works to begin.

The first step is for Higgins Contractors to undertake foundation filling on this site. This work is slated to start on Monday 5 November 2018 and finish in February 2019.

The project is subject to Resource Consent and a Construction Management Plan which set out the conditions the works need to comply with. Please contact NCC's Isaac Aitken if you'd like to more detail about this.

Construction of Hawke's Bay Rugby Union building will start following the filling and take about six months to complete. The anticipated completion date is August 2019.

A new sealed access and the construction of a training field will also be completed at this time.
