Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director Corporate Services

The Executive Director Corporate Services is responsible for overseeing Council's internal support services comprising the following significant focus areas:

Finance Services includes accounting, the coordination of budget preparation (including the Long Term Plan), financial reporting and financial support and advice across Council. Finance also oversees the collection of rates, which are the primary source of funding for the city, and all other forms of revenue. They pay Council's accounts and staff payroll and ensure procurement excellence.

Te Waka Rangapū develops and nurtures relationships with our Treaty Partners, including the development of policy on engagement with Mana Whenua and Tangata Whenua.

Information Services provides technical and operational support for the Council's corporate IT software and systems and manages the websites of all five Hawke's Bay Councils, ensuring consistency for the ratepayer.

Property Services manages the insurance portfolio, operations of the Inner Harbour quays including 95 berths, the Council's portfolio of commercial, industrial and residential properties, and the sale and purchase of Council property.

Business Excellence and Transformation manages the risk portfolio, advises elected members, manages committee and Council meetings and responds to LGOIMAs. They support the organisation in all transitional change, generate annual reports, annual plans and long term plans, ensuring legislative compliance.

People and Capability manages talent acquisition, employment, retention and organisational development. Health, Safety and Wellness of all staff and contractors is also included in this portfolio.
