Every three years the people of Napier vote for a Mayor and 12 councillors. To vote, you need to be on the New Zealand electoral roll and live in Napier permanently - or own property here. You also need to be 18 years or older, and be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
Our local elections are held every three years and gives you the chance to vote for the Mayor and local council.
The next local election will be held 8 October 2022.
If you are an enrolled voter, you'll get a voting information pack in the mail. Check or update your postal address to make sure you receive your voting papers.
Voting papers will be sent to all eligible voters from Friday 16 September 2022.
Voting will close at 12 noon on 8 October 2022.
