COVID-19 Traffic Light System Orange

As at 11:59pm Thursday 2 December 2021, Napier is at orange of the COVID-19 traffic light system. Napier City Council is committed to ensuring the safe delivery of all services under the new COVID-19 Protection Framework, and in line with Government and Ministry of Health guidelines, there will be some changes made to how our public-facing services will be delivered.

What does life at Orange mean for us?

  • Record keeping or QR code scanning is required.
  • Face coverings are mandatory in most public places (for example, on flights, public transport, taxis, retail, public facilities) and encouraged elsewhere.
  • Keep physically distanced where possible.
  • Make sure you have your My Vaccine Pass ready to be scanned where required.
  • Retail (including farmers markets) is open with capacity limits based on 1-metre distancing.
  • Education (schools and early childhood centres) are open with public health measures in place.
  • Workplaces following the traffic light system guidelines are open.
  • If you have cold or flu symptoms isolate immediately and call Healthline for advice about a test.
