CMNZ Series - Reimagining Mozart

CMNZ Series - Reimagining Mozart

This stunning new arrangement of Mozart’s Requiem by Robert Wiremu is brought to life by the internationally celebrated VOICES New Zealand Chamber Choir and instrumental ensemble under the direction of Dr Karen Grylls. This performance recreates the virtuosic yet intimate experience of the chamber forces as originally imagined by Mozart, creating a wholly new and fresh perspective on this remarkable work.

Left unfinished at the time of his death in 1791, Mozart’s Requiem is not only testament to his extraordinary talent but continues to be regarded as one of the most profound and moving musical expressions in classical music.
With its distinct sound, performing music from Aotearoa New Zealand and infusing the qualities of its pacific origins into the classic choral repertoire, VOICES has established itself as the country’s premier national and professional choir. VOICES regularly performs at Arts Festivals around the country, collaborates with orchestras, Chamber Music New Zealand, taonga pūoro practitioners, and other artists across creative genres.
