Breakwater Road Beach Carpark Upgrade

The popular Napier beach beside the Port of Napier received an upgrade to it’s carpark during 2014. The previous car park was shingle and was replaced with an asphalt surface.
The contractor for this minor works was Dunnings and the cost of the entire project was $143,599.
Thackeray and Station Street Intersection Upgrade

Construction Started: May 2014
Completed: July 2014
The major Napier city intersection located on Thackeray and Station Streets underwent an upgrade to the road surface and traffic lights.
Undertaken by local Hawke’s Bay contractor CPM, the project was started in May 2014 and successfully completed by July the same year.
The rough surface of the road required re-surfacing. During this extensive works, the Napier City Council took the opportunity to upgrade the traffic lights, including replacing the wiring and upgrade the infrastructure under the intersection site.
The cost of the project was $374,192.83
