Hastings, Tennyson Intersection
Planning Started: November 2007
Construction Started: April 2008
Completed: September 2008
Upgrading the Hastings Street/Tennyson Street intersection will improve the traffic signals and the efficiency of traffic lanes, extend the kerb and channel to protect shop verandas from truck damage and correct the contour of the road surface.
The start date for work is June 23 and the project is expected to be completed - weather permitting - by mid-August.
The four corners of the intersection will be upgraded successively to minimise disruption to traffic, businesses and shoppers. The first two weeks of the project will see traffic management systems set up, survey work done, drainage installed, kerb and channel constructed and footpaths paved.
