Napier Garden Competition

Napier Garden Competition 2022 Proudly Supported by Mitre 10 Mega NapierThe Napier Garden competition is on again! Start planting, pruning, and grooming all of your beautiful blooms!

Run annually by the Spirit of Napier Lions in association with Napier City Council, the Napier Garden Competition is a great way for proud garden owners and carers to showcase their gardens. 

For the 2022 competition, entries opened on 3 October and closed 28 October.
Judging is on 1 & 2 November and prize-giving is on 19 November 2022.

There are 6 categories, plus the Overall Champion Garden Award.

  • Business, motels, retirement villages
  • Vegetable gardens
  • Residential 1 | Marewa to Bay View
  • Residential 2 | Onekawa to Taradale
  • School & pre-school gardens

There's a $500 Mitre 10 MEGA voucher to be won for the Champion Garden winner, plus vouchers for category winners!

Entry criteria

  • You can enter a vegetable garden plus one category.
  • The overall champion garden is chosen from the residential and first time entry finalists.
  • Entries are open to all Napier ratepayers and residents.
  • The judges decision is final.
