NCC's Love Your Neighbourhood Competition kicked off on Friday 22 March, celebrating Neighbour’s Day in Napier.

The competition is an opportunity for formal and informal neighbourhood groups and clubs to come together to celebrate their unique identity, encourage new connections, enhance their neighbourhood’s environment or respond to a particular need. This could range from organising street barbeques, working bees or setting up a book exchange - to more elaborate projects like art installations or a waterway clean-up.

We're looking for exciting and innovative projects, something fresh to benefit neighbourhoods or our community.

We're looking for exciting and innovative projects, something fresh to benefit neighbourhoods or our community. Entering is easy. Submit a video or multi-media presentation about your project idea, outlining what you want to do, why you want to do, who is involved and how much it'll cost. Find all the competition details including entry details, on our website

The competition will be open until Monday 6 May. A judging panel of Council staff and various community representatives will assess all entries and select the winning projects, which will be funded by Napier City Council. A total of $8,000 will be allocated to the winning projects.

Winners will be announced on Wednesday 17 May 2019 and have six months to complete their project after receiving the prize money.
