There are a range of grants and funding options for community groups available from key funding providers such as the Napier City Council, Eastern & Central Community Trust, Department of Internal Affairs, community and public trusts and from the local pubs.

Community Grants

Napier City provides various types of community grants to support and encourage voluntary groups and community based organisations to address their issues, activities or programmes in Napier.

Community groups can apply to the Napier City Council for a Community Services Grant, Community Services Property Grant or a Creative Communities Grant. Theses grants are contestable so the success of your application would depend the criteria, priority of the respective grant compared with the others, and the grants money available for allocation.

• The Community Services Grant is available to voluntary and community based organisations to support essential administration and projects to enhance their community services to benefit social well being in Napier.
• Community Services Property Grants is available to groups or clubs who provide community activities or services on property they own not used for private profit.
• Creative Communities Grant is available for projects or events that encourage participation in arts and culture within the Napier Community.

Heritage Improvements Grant

Heritage Improvement Grants are given to building owners to assist in the cost of repainting certain buildings in Napier.

There are specific criteria that has to be meet to recieve this grant.

Napier Library card holders can now access Fundview through the Napier Library Website.
