Wastewater
Napier Sewage Treatment Station.
Council provides a domestic sewage and industrial wastewater collection, screening and disposal system to maintain the community's health and protect the envoronment. The
system services the main City area but does not include Meeanee, Jervoistown, residential Awatoto, Bay View and Poraiti. A system for Bay View has been installed in some areas.
Council is committed to providing advanced sewage treatment, and a Biological Trickling Filter (BTF) plant is currently being designed.
The BTF is planned to be commissioned by 2014.
Blockages
Note: Blockages within a property are the responsibility of the property owner and a Plumber/Drain Layer should be contacted. Council is only
responsible for blockages of the Sewer Main. Check with your neighbours, if they also have a blockage then it is likely to be a blockage of the
Council's sewer main.
Wastewater Treatment Plant
Construction of the new treatment plant is scheduled to begin in 2013.
