Electoral RollsThe Preliminary Electoral Roll to be used for Napier City elections will be available for public inspection at the office of the Napier City Council, Hastings Street, Napier, between the hours of 8.00 am and 5.00 pm each weekday during the election period (late July to 11 October 2013).
Additional copies of the Roll are also available at the Public Libraries in Napier and Taradale and the following New Zealand Post Shops/Post Centres: Napier, Taradale, Marewa and Onekawa.
Residential ElectorResidents of Napier City Council are enrolled automatically on the Electoral Roll if they are registered as Parliamentary Electors. Therefore there is no need to enrol separately for the Council’s elections.
Residents are urged to check that their names appear on the Electoral Roll for the City of Napier.
Any requests to correct changes required or omissions found to the Roll, should be made through any Post Shop or the Electoral Enrolment Centre. Residents can update their residential details on the Electoral Enrolment Centre’s website.
Ratepayer ElectorRatepayers who are not residents of the Napier City but pay rates on property within the Council’s boundaries may be entitled to enrol on the ratepayer roll. Companies, businesses and societies which are ratepayers, may also nominate an elector to vote on their behalf, provided any such elector resides outside the Council’s boundaries.
Any changes queries or omissions found to the Ratepayer part of the Roll, should be made to the Electoral Officer.
The Final Electoral Roll is produced once the Preliminary Electoral Roll closes. The Final Electoral Roll is the Roll used for issuing voting papers. Copies of this Roll will be available for purchase.
