Receiving a building consent
Once your consent has been processed an account will be posted to you detailing outstanding fees payable. Upon payment
of these fees you can pick up your approved plans and begin work. Your documentation will detail any conditions of issue
of the Building consent and tell you to call for inspections as work progresses.
These inspections are carried out by Council. The direct line for Inspections is (06) 835 1545.
What should I do when work is completed?
To enable us to issue the required "Code Compliance Certificate", you will need to notify Council when work is completed.
A final inspection of the work will then be carried out to ensure it complies with the New Zealand Building Code and
Compliance Certificate issued. Any additional costs incurred by Council in confirming Code compliance, are payable
prior to the issue of the Code Compliance Certificate.
