The Annual Report documents the financial results for the year and comments on the outlook for the future.
HB Community Outcomes regional Monitoring Report
A requirement of the Local Government Act 2002 is to report on progress against the community outcomes identified
by the public. The purpose of establishing the community outcomes was to get the community's view on the things it considers
important for its long term wellbeing.
They serve to provide:
- A regional context for the ongoing work of the public, private and community sectors in the region
- A common strategic focus for these sectors
- A series of long-term development goals for the Hawke's Bay region to aspire to
- And a basis for monitoring the region's progress against the outcomes or goals.
In 2004 the community identified 9 high level outcomes and a further 25 sub outcomes broadly covering economic,
social/cultural and environmental wellbeing in the region.
Specific indicators have been identified for the various sub-outcomes to enable regional progress on them to be
monitored and measured over time. These are outlined in the report below along with a broad evaluation of how the
region has fared over the past decade in terms of outcome achievement.
OCTA's Napier Library Service Delivery Study June 2007
An Investigation into enhancing the future delivery of Library Services.
The findings and recommendations of the service delivery study recently conducted by OCTA Associates Limited have been
adopted, recently, by Napier City Council.
Completion dates for the development programme have been revised as follows: Work on the Taradale Library extension has now been
scheduled to begin from late October 2008. It is anticipated that the Taradale Library will be closed to allow for the
redevelopment from late October. An allowance has been made for a 8 month construction period and it is anticipated that the
Taradale Library may be closed for the majority of this time. The construction of improvements in the Napier Library is
expected to occur in a parallel process.

This document provides a range of data about Napier City, from the first release of detailed 2001 Census information by Statistics New Zealand.
The document provides, in effect, a basic social and economic profile of Napier City and its constituent suburbs.
Dog Control Report
This report is presented pursuant to section 10A of the amended Dog Control Act 1996 which compels territorial authorities to:
"report on the administration of its dog control policy ..and its dog control practices."
